Ephesians 2:10 (NLT2): “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.”
Are you a map person? When you travel do you carry a detailed driving plan? I do. I have the Google map in my phone...a printed step-by-step and turn-by-turn docket in the passenger seat... I'm ready for anything. Have you ever noticed, though, that one closed road..or one detour can make your plan fall apart? My map doesn't mean a whole lot if I can't follow it to the letter...or does it?
What happens when we think we have our lives mapped out...and the road turns left when we expected it to go right? What do most of us do? We pull over. We stop. We stare at the place where things change and we worry. While we are stopped there...staring at the sign...staring at the curve ball that life has thrown at us...life continues to happen. Bills pile up. Kids get sick. We get older. Yet there we are wondering why this challenge has happened.
It's amazing what defeats us isn't it?
God has a better plan for your life...
Jer 29:11 "'For I know the plans I have for you,' says the Lord. 'They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.'"
What has stopped you from living the life God created you for? What has prevented you from staying on the road as a Christ-follower, friend, or parent?
Most of us don't realize that our map really doesn't matter...God's map does. God's plan for your life is amazingly complete...ours gets us lost. How do we know where God wants us to go? How do we get around the barriers? How do we get God's plan?
1) Quiet time discovery / prayer
2) Ask Him
3) Look for openings the He provides
4) Find some God-believing friends to confide in and ask opinions of
5) Pray again
Keep searching for God's map for your life! When you find it, you will surely be back on the road to reaching your God-potential!
