Friday - "God's Provision"

God's Provision
By Anita Strychalski (from the www.frccommunity.com forums)

Luke 13:18, “Then Jesus said, ‘What is the Kingdom of God like? How can I illustrate it? It is like a tiny mustard seed that a man planted in a garden; it grows and becomes a tree, and the birds make nests in its branches.’ He also asked, ‘What else is the Kingdom of God like? It is like the yeast a woman used in making bread. Even though she put only a little yeast in three measures of flour, it permeated every part of the dough.’”

The Kingdom of God provides and brings increase. I think of Jacob. He left his father’s land for the wrong reason. Just in case you don’t know the story you can read about it in Genesis 27 & 28. God turned it into an opportunity of increase. Laban worked real hard at making Jacob work really hard. Seven years for the ‘one’ that shockingly wasn’t the ‘one’. I wonder if Jacob ever thought about the time he tricked his father into blessing him with Essau’s blessing on the morning after his honeymoon? I wonder if that is why he stuck around for another seven years for the real ‘one’ and another seven years to build up his herd. I wonder if Jacob ever thought about how he left and how he was going to return? Secretly running away. It was God's goodness that brought about the increase, not Jacob.

God knows what is in my heart. My desires, hopes, dreams - what I am capable of and my shortcomings. He also knows my character. What I stand for and when the next card dealt in my hand will cause me to run. He is like that, all-knowing; yet all-loving anyways; in spite of me. Now that is what I call the law of provision. God takes me in all my splendor and shapes it for Him and all His Glory!

Dear Father, Thank you for putting your hand upon my life. Before I knew you, You were wooing me to you. You had a plan of provision and increase, way before I experienced lack in my life-before I was born, You were already providing a way. Father, in You I find my being and the very breath of life that inspires me to serve others. Thank you for doing all things through me and doing them well. In Jesus Name! Amen.
