Luke 24:12 "However, Peter jumped up and ran to the tomb to look. Stooping, he peered in and saw the empty linen wrappings; then he went home again, wondering what had happened."
Easter weekend, Pastor Troy said something that has stuck in my brain since he said it... He told us to "run to the tomb." To actively look for the risen Christ...to begin to experience a Savior who didn't stay dead...but came back...for us. To believe that resurrection was indeed possible.
If you think about it, death had quite a good record going for it up to that point...
100,000,000+ dead to 0 returned to life.
Jesus changed that to 100,000,00+ to 1 alive
What does that mean in your life this morning? Death had a perfect record until Jesus came...how should that impact your thinking? Could it be that what appears dead in our lives can be resurrected by Jesus Himself?
Could it be that your dead marriage isn't? Is it possible that your broken finances are fixable? Is there a way that those relationships that appear deceased are just playing opossum?
Death was only temporary for Christ. For His followers...us... we must believe that Jesus still has that power. To revive the seemingly dead things in our lives...to restore them to better than they were before they started.
Stones still roll away...miracles still happen...and that grave you find parts of your life in is only temporary... RUN to the tomb. Look inside. He is risen.
This morning check out www.ivemissed.com. Listen to some of the videos on the front page. Go inside and read some of the stories...hear some of the hurts...witness the healing from the risen Christ.
See you tomorrow,
Pastor Brian
