Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me!

Psalm 143:1
O LORD, hear my prayer, listen to my cry for mercy; in your faithfulness and righteousness come to my relief.


I was reading the other day from Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul and read a story about an elderly woman who owned a sick cat named Puff. She needed a house call because she didn't drive or have anyone to take her and Puff to the vets. Puff had a "powerful, chronic infection" causing Puff's kidneys to fail. They started treatment but Puff continued to slip away. The vet called Puff's owner to prepare her for the impending death of her beloved cat. The owner asked if there was anything else that could be done adn the vet said the only thing that came to him at that moment," I'm going to ask people to join in praying for Puff."

The next morning, the vet walked into his clinic to find his technician deliriously happy. The technician said, "Puff is noy only alive, he acts like he's ready to go home! He's eating, drinking, urinating and meowing incessantly." More examination and blood tests on Puff revealed that his kidneys were working again. The vet called Puff's owner to give the good news and later took Puff home.

"... that I had discovered for myself a powerful, new treatment tool. It was a tool they didn't teach me in veterinary school, but one that could be deployed anytime, by anyone, in any dosage, at no cost, and with no side effects-- the power of prayer."

Prayer can heal! God wants to heal you and your family and friends. All you have to do is pray and ask for His healing. Pray these words when you or someone you know needs healing. "Lord, please put your healing hands on _____. Please take away the pain and suffering and replace it with your strength and goodness. Please, cure the illness and hurt and replace it with thankfulness and joy. Amen."
