Ladies' Bible Study Chapter 11

Radiate - What a great word. Here is the definition from dictionary.com: to extend, spread, or move like rays or radii from a center.

Let's take a look. Does your life radiate with joy?

Nehemiah 8:10 reminds us that "...the joy of the Lord is your strength."

There is a big difference between happiness and joy. Happiness is a feeling that we can experience, but joy... Joy comes from deep within. I love what the book says about joy:

Joy naturally bubbles up when you begin expressing gratitude for what you have rather than focusing our attention on areas of lack.

Joy is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. It will naturally grow inside of you as you focus on Jesus and spend time with and grow in Him.

Reflect for a few minutes:
*When in your life have you felt the most joy?

*What things in your life do you allow to steal your joy?

Jesus made some a promise to His disciples regarding joy. Look atJohn 16:22. Go ahead and click the link, it will just take a second. :) Our joy in Jesus can never be taken away.

In John 20:19-20 we see that the disciples true overwhelming joy when they were in the presence of Jesus.

Psalm 16:11 reminds us that we can also find joy in His presence. In fact, it is promised to us.

Check out these verses: Psalm 33:21, Psalm 63:5, Psalm 64:10, Psalm 97:12 and 1 Peter 1:8.

Ladies, it all begins with Jesus. Are you letting anything get in the way?

Ladies' Bible Study Chapter 10

Your Greatest Strength, Your Greatest Weakness

This week we will be looking at developing our God-Esteem. When we base how we feel about ourselves on what others think about us, we create the potential to be inflated with pride or upset and discouraged. Our feelings will change as quickly as their opinions do. God is the one Who made us. He knows everything about us. He has our best interest in mind. He cares about the stuff that really counts. He treasures us. We are the apple of His eye. His is the view that we should focus on.

Examine yourself:
Is there an area of your life where you are more prone to focus on what others think about you than what God thinks?

Why should we find our worth in God?

Ladies,

Find your worth in God. He will never fail you.

Ladies' Bible Study Chapter 9

Your Greatest Strength, Your Greatest Weakness

Often, our greatest strength is directly related to our greatest weakness. For example, if you are an extrovert, you thrive around people. On the contrary, you may have a very difficult time being alone. If you are detail-oriented, you may focus so much on the details that you lose the big picture which can be frustrating.

Knowing this sets you free. It sets you free to know yourself, free to know that you don't have to be, can't be, everything to everyone. You can give yourself a break. It also reminds you to show grace to others because they also have weaknesses that are opposed to their strengths.

Try this... Make a list of your strengths. Do you notice any weaknesses that you have that are opposite of those strengths?

Let the list help you to learn how to have grace for yourself.

Mary and Martha

This may be a familiar story to you, but let's take a fresh look at it -

Our strengths and weaknesses mean different things in different situations. We are each different, but when we live for God, He can use us to bring glory to His name.

What are your areas of weakness that you need to lighten up and give yourself a break about? Are there strengths that you need to celebrate?

This week (for starters), let's try to only focus on the strengths of those around us instead of their weaknesses. Look at how Paul speaks to Timothy for an example. Philippians 2:19-24

Ladies' IC Bible Study

Ladies,

Thank you so much for your commitment to the IC Bible study on Wednesday nights. The lessons have been great, and I know that I have learned a lot. With the start of Fall (as much Fall as you can have in South Florida), a whole new list of challenges to time has risen. As we've announced, we will be beginning the Student Services on October 1 - those need to be on Wednesday nights. So, what we are going to do is finish our book study here online - beginning with tonight's lesson.

Please leave your thoughts and opinions in the comments, we can carry a dialog on that way. If I find that there is good interest, we can even continue the series after our book is done. One of the ideas floating in my head right now, is maybe a study of the book of Esther or Ruth or some of the other women of the Bible. Please let me know what you think.

I will be back later this afternoon to post the study for tonight - chapter 9, "You Greatest Strength, Your Greatest Weakness."

Ladies Bible Study - Plan B

OK, so things change rather quickly around here! The Ladies' Bible study for tonight is actually going to have a schedule change.

We will not be meeting tonight.

Instead, our next meeting will be on August 6 at 6:30pm. Then we will meet every other Wednesday.

Next week, we will be discussing how the gifts that God has given us should be used to help others. If you'd like to get a head start, you can read Daniel 1 and 2. The notes are still up to if you'd like to get them to review.

Women's Bible Study

We will start our first Women's Bible Study for the Internet Campus next Wednesday.

It will be LIVE online and we will have a "studio group" as well.

We will be working through "Being Yourself: How do I take off this mask?"

New Women's Study

This summer we will have our first Women's Bible Study for the Internet Campus. We haven't worked out the exact details yet, but this is what I can tell you...

It will start the 3rd week in June
It will be LIVE online in the studio
We will have a "studio group"

We will be working through "Being Yourself: How do I take off this mask?"

You can click on the link above to purchase a copy from the Women of Faith website. We have checked on Overstock.com as well and the books are the same price at both locations ($8.99). You do not need the book to join in the study with us, but it will enhance your experience. :)

This is what we need from you... INPUT!
We are in the EST time zone (-5 GMT), but are totally willing to do this study at just about any time of the day or night to make it as convenient as possible for everyone.

If you are interested in joining us by watching on your computer at home, please tell us what time zone you are in and what would be the best time for you.
